Black Swan inspired makeup

I was quite affected by the movie. Couldn't sleep at night because I was scared of the dark. So in attempt to get over the movie's effect on me, I decided to do a Black Swan inspired makeup look that took me 1.5hours to complete. TADAH !

natalie portman lookalike? haha

Here's how I got the look

1.starting with a fresh face, pile on the foundation .
To get a more ghostly, pale look, I applied concealer on my whole face. Only $2 from Daiso :)

2. Draw the outline of the feathers with white eyeliner, then go over the pattern with a black liquid eyeliner.

3. Fill in the rest of the feather details with the black eyeliner.

4. Fill in some of the feathers with black. Just get creative !
This was actually the result of several smudges when my hand got lazy.

5. Fill in the empty feathers with a silver eyeshadow base.
I used a wet brush to get a more luminous, shiny effect with the Silver.

6. Finish off with a matte blush on the cheeks and DARK RED lipstick for an eerie evil look.

6 simple steps and 1.5 hours later, I'm looking like the Black Swan. Would have loved to go out with this elaborate makeup and test people's reactions but it was actually quite uncomfortable with so much eyeliner. Surprisingly, it wasn't such a pain to remove thanks to my Laneige makeup remover :)

If anyone is as crazy as me to get so caught up in the movie, I'd definitely recommend you to try out this makeup look and work your inner Black Swan. I actually scared myself staring in the mirror trying to look evil/seductive.  haha HAVE FUN !

Black Swan review

Black Swan review by thenewlimshuyan

A really intense experience. Magnified because I sat in the 5th row. Total confusion of what was real and what was imagined. Good job of leaving lots for interpretation since they don't explain the relationships between characters in the movie. I'm a buff for ripping stories apart and trying to understand the dynamics of the characters to come up with a conclusion. But this was one heck of a mind-fuck. You just don't even know where to start. Another amazing movie that left me feeling 'OMG-ed'.

Self pressure induced psychological hallucinations ultimately destroy Nina in her pursuit of the perfect performance. Watch the movie if you're able to stomach the super deep contents. Writing this review reminded me nothing is perfect and that I should relax more in life.

The story is about ballet but they make it attractive for the guys by throwing in a lesbian scene and some self-touching. I'm not really a Natalie Portman fan and i feel like I've seen a bit too much of her especially after watching 'No Strings Attached' over the weekend. Not that interested in seeing her so intimately. Anne Hathaway in 'Love and other Drugs' ftw.

The show is a direct parallel representation of 'Swan Lake'. Nina (Portman) wins the lead who has to play both the delicate White Swan and her evil sister the Black Swan. She is the perfect role for the White Swan, innocent, graceful and scared but lacks the recklessness and sensuality of the black swan. Then as she enters a twisted friendship with Lily (Kunis), a new dancer in the company, Nina gets in touch with her dark side.
